Hurghada airport to your hotel

1 h route3 stopsBest: Book the transfer with your hotel: it saves the negotiationUpdated July 2026

IN SHORT

From Hurghada airport there is NO public transport: no city bus, no train, no minibus. No mystery, nothing to compare. There are only two ways to your hotel: the transfer your hotel sells or includes, or a taxi negotiated at the door.

The good news is that everything is close: El Dahar is just five kilometres away, and the southern resorts half an hour at most. The bad news is that without a transfer you have to negotiate freshly landed, which is when you negotiate worst.

The route, stop by stop

3 STOPS
  1. 01

    The hotel transfer

Most Hurghada resorts include the transfer in the package or sell it separately, and if you’ve booked all-inclusive you probably already have it. Someone waits with a sign at arrivals and there’s nothing to negotiate. It’s the recommended option, especially arriving at night or with children: no argument, no surprise price, nothing to hunt for. Confirm with the hotel before flying whether it’s included or needs requesting.

  2. 02

    Taxi: haggle on the pavement

    ⏱ 15-25 min

Taxis wait at the arrivals rank, the only alternative to the transfer. As everywhere in Egypt, the price is agreed BEFORE getting in and before your case goes in: freshly landed and tired is when you negotiate worst, so know where you’re going in advance.

The distances are short: El Dahar is five kilometres away and the farthest resorts half an hour.

If the price they ask sounds like a European airport run, it isn’t one.

  3. 03

The microbuses: inside the city, not here

An important clarification so you don’t go looking: the white minibuses are Hurghada’s public transport and they work very well (fixed routes on the main road, a ridiculous fare, stopping wherever you wave) but they do NOT leave the airport. They’ll serve you all stay for moving between El Dahar, Sakkala and the resorts. For getting in from the airport, no. That’s the difference.
